 Grand panier ikebana tubulaire en forme de seau à eau, tissé en bandes de bambou fumé, première moitié du XXe siècle (époque Taisho ou Showa) par le maître du bambou japonais

 Maeda Chikubosai I (1872-1950).

 

  Maeda Chikubosai était l'un des artistes de bambou les plus importants travaillant avant la guerre du Pacifique.  Il venait de la région du Kansai et était actif à Sakai, dans la préfecture d'Osaka.  Il a été l' élève de Wada Waichisai I (1851-1901).

  A la fin de l'ère Taisho, il a fait des paniers pour la famille impériale qui l'von rendu célèbre.  Chikubosai a participé à une série d'expositions solo chez Mitsukoshi à Tokyo au début de l'ère Showa, de 1926 jusqu'au début de la guerre.

A tall tubular ikebana basket in the shape of a water bucket,  woven in smoked bamboo stripes , first half of the 20th century (Taisho or Showa era) by Japanese bamboo master Maeda Chikubosai I (1872-1950).

 

 Maeda Chikubosai I was one of the most important bamboo artists working before the Pacific War. He was from the Kansai Region and active in Sakai, Osaka prefecture. He was instructed by Wada Waichisai I ((1851-1901).

 Late in the Taisho era, he made some presentation baskets for the Imperial family for which he became famous. Chikubosai had a series of solo exhibitions at Mitsukoshi in Tokyo during the early Showa era, from 1926 until the outbreak of the war.
